Anne-Marie 2

Anne-Marie asked me to shoot some more pictures of her, which I was happy to do.  I haven't made prints from many of these yet.  It's only been a couple of years!

Anne-Marie did her own make-up this time around, so it's not as crazy as before, but she did an excellent job overall.

All of these photos were shot with my Bronica SQ-Ai on Ilford XP2 Super.

I was really thrilled by how this shot came out.  I'm afraid that it's been slightly altered, however.  Anne-Marie's bikini had a small dark spot on one of the white strings, which I removed in Photoshop.

A lot of the photos in the second set were along these lines, body shots or moves.  Anne-Marie had the best moves of any model that I've worked with so far.  All that training has obviously paid off.

These three pictures are interesting from a technical standpoint, in that the process by which the first one got into the digital domain is totally different than that of the second two.  The first frame was printed from the negative at Joe's Basement in London, then scanned in on a 600 dpi flatbed scanner.  The second two frames were scanned directly from the negatives on a 2,400 dpi flatbed scanner with a backlight, burned and dodged within Adobe Photoshop, and finally exported to JPEG.  The contrast control is a little better on the second two;  there isn't as much burnout in the highlights, and the skin contrast is better.

That has to hurt.

This is also a scan of a negative.  I think that it needs a bit more work--I need to tone down the background in the upper half of the photo--but this is where I am with it now.
