Marysia 2

Marysia liked some of the photos from the first photo shoot that I did with her, especially the black and white ones in which she was wearing the white beaded, uh, thing, and she asked me if I could make some poster-sized enlargements.  I was a little reluctant because I shot the photos on XP2 Super in 6x6, and I didn't think that they'd hold together well if they were blown up that much, so I suggested that we reshoot the photos on large format film.  So she came by and we did a bunch of similar photos on the 4x5.

I used XP2 (non-Super), HP5+, and Agfa Scala, but I think that I like the Polaroid T-55 photos the best.  T-55 is a wonderful film.  It has a slightly old-fashioned look to it, which stands to reason since it's been around, unchanged, since 1961, and the peeling-apart process leaves interesting marks along the edges of the frame that can be included in the print (as they have in these pictures).  And of course, the best part is that you can see your photo 30 seconds after taking it, and decide whether or not you want to keep it or shoot another.

I don't have any 4x5 enlarging equipment, so I had these printed by Melissa at The C Lab, who's been doing most of my black and white printing recently.  The C Lab charges $10 for an 8x10 print, but you get 20% off if you pay in advance, so it's really only $8, and Melissa does a great job (as should be obvious).

Click on the thumbnails to see the enlargements (you know the drill).

These two are my favorites.

Marysia also stood up for a few.

I have three more T-55 photos to scan, and maybe I'll put up some of the XP2 and HP5+ photos as well.
